Great take on living wages with some history 📚

Poverty is a policy choice. We have the means to completely erase poverty in America. Let's be honest, both parties are responsible. Democrats have had several opportunities to raise the wage. GOP is hard "NO" ⛔

In two days, science groups are descending on DC for a march to demand the removal of HHS Secretary Robert Kennedy Jr.

Proud that @accountabilityji.bsky.social is supporting the march.

I had a great conversation today with co-hosts Youri Smouter and Seth Sturm about questions of justice and society as they relate to how society is organized.

Lots of dated Gen X pop culture references. 😂

This is how ICE agents act when they think no one's watching.

The rich are doing violence on Americans and using “immigrants” as their “excuse.”

Trump and Bibi are both war criminals and people still like to use the word “democracy.”

Umm, I don’t know if you know this but these “democracies” are just creating war criminals.
I really like this sentiment, though Blackwater is the concern for me. I'll never forget what they did at Standing Rock. We don't need another "let's watch it play out" in any office. I didn't watch them spray ice water on elders praying in winter & think, "I'll join that group's leader."
We should not be having a debate about Nazi symbolism tattooed on the potentially top ticket Democrat in Maine. The fact we are even willing to entertain it shows desperation within the Party, not dedication, and how far we have fallen from rational thought.
There are still 7 other candidates and at least two are for Medicare4All. The primary isn't until June.
A comment you can't argue with. Or at least you couldn't if this weren't the internet. Lol.
With how career Dem senators regularly vote, I don’t really rank govt experience as a net positive factor. I don’t want what corporate consultants, lawyers, academics and rich white Dem donors want, and I’m tired of compromising my values for their shitty candidates who do nothing but serve the rich

It’s not Monday you hate, it’s working for the boss to pay the landlord
Very near. I'm just 20 miles east of Greenfield. Yeah, I may miss the sky in Texas but I love MA & would never go back. The racism....so much more than I thought there would be here, but also, so many more people fighting actively against it.

Let’s be clear: Republican leaders share one very simple thing in common with the 9/11 hijackers:

They hate America.

Again, for the GOP, it’s not about making America great or successful. It’s about strip-mining the nation and selling it off for parts for the benefit of capital.

We have had 50 years to see how “free markets” foster wealth inequality, infrastructure collapse, death, disease, disability, grief, suffering, ecological destruction, and fuel fascism.

We’ve got ample research showing that the markets create, and do not solve our major problems.

The don’t care.

The entire purpose of the conservative movement has been tearing down public goods and any policies that limit or hinder in any way corporate profiteering and wealth accumulation by the powerful elite.

It abhors the social contract.

Destruction of modern society is the goal.
I was so bummed when my squash didn't make this year. A local farmer knew I was looking for a big blue Hubbard Squash. I didn't even know they came this big. I need to figure out who to share this with.
I got this strange feeling I missed something.
Oh well, back to soup making.
Yeah, I live in the area where MA, NH, and VT meet. It's an entire zone colder than Boston even and in the forest so dark is really dark. Lovecraftian dark.
I get used to it faster now, but at first I really miss that Chihuahuan desert.

Guess what?
You can now track politicians activity on the stock market. Want to follow the money? Now you literally can! This is so gross. 💰

It's New England. Some days we just don't bother with light in the sky at all. I didn't know until I moved here that the sun could be out and give zero warmth. When it bothers to be seen at all.
Who knew you could be homesick for a latitude
