This is for all the extremely stupid "progressive" friends of mine who have called me an asshole over the years for talking shit on a "charity"

It’s dinner time for the police. Appears to be pizza from a Salvation Army van.

Broadview’s “free speech” curfew starts soon, at 6pm.

The komorebi for Windows test suite is now running (and passing!) against komorebi for Mac!

The cross-platform tiling window management dream is getting closer 🎉

I can't imagine achieving this in any other language and ecosystem besides Rust 🦀

Unfortunately not, and the list of services in nix-darwin is pretty slim :(

komorebi is an inherently leftist tiling window manager 🍉

Are tiling window managers inherently fascist?

I too lived my entire life without a tiling window manager like komorebi (until I wrote it)

Can confirm, they were sad times

Sorry I don't post here a lot. This place just feels like for a haven for liberals trying to pretend everything is fine while everything burns around us. Idk.

recent remarks from @frame.work's CEO, nirav patel, are incredibly disappointing, and reflect a recurring theme that i'm seeing in tech: embracing, in both vocal and financial support, right-wing bigots and fascists with the excuse of "they make good tech"

Framework supporting far-right racists?

NEW: Since October 2023, the IDF Spokesperson's Unit has released dozens of 3D animations illustrating alleged Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iranian sites

The style is now unmistakable: satellite zoom-ins, black & white wireframes, and red-textured houses - a new visual language of war

This, but publishing software under FSF and OSI licenses that permit companies like Anduril, Palantir, AWS, Azure, GCP etc. to abuse your work to strengthen the IOF, ICE, and others

There’s not one. There’s some hacky things you can do (create fresh new records that are clones of the old one).

But for all intents and purposes no. It uses the users did/private key when signing the repo so if you take one users account and move it to a new one you get a mean looking an error..

to be totally honest, the process just involves me deleting the inactive one and migrating the main one to blacksky 😅

i've been researching, but haven't found a process to "merge" DIDs yet 🥲
lgug2z.com
People who develop tools in the #Nix and #NixOS ecosystem and hate Anduril:

Are you willing to adopt a license for your tools which would prevent the Andurils of the world from using them?

Yes, this means a license not approved by OSI or FSF
lgug2z.com
If I make an account on #blacksky and start posting on it, is it still possible to later use a migration tool like @tektite.cc to migrate my data from this account to that one? Would it merge the two DIDs (is that the right term?)

Gotta be honest, ATProto makes me feel pretty dumb

BDS is equally applicable to FSF, OSI, and other genocide-friendly software licensing "stewards" and proponents

Yeah, there are two things going on. 1st is spinning the PLC off into a separate Swiss association:

docs.bsky.app/blog/plc-dir...

The other is that folks are planning for how to replicate the PLC so it's not trivial to tinker with the existing log of records.

Found this in my Notes from like a year ago. Feel like with Sora 2 it’s more relevant than ever.
There’s more profit potential in giving the masses the illusion of creative potential, rather than empowering actual creative professionals to be more effective.

Why hasn’t AI been leveraged to reduce human labor? Because these corporations RELY on that indentured servitude of the masses to stay in power. Freeing humanity from the burden of labor and empowering them as individuals would also wrestle away the ruling class’s control of the mechanisms of society itself. And we can’t have that, now can we? It’d disappoint the shareholders!
