This is such an important piece and I'm so grateful that you and Julia wrote it. My nephew, who has significant support needs, looks very different from me, but very few people see the intricate web of supports and accommodations I've had to create to engage with the world.

Unity and healing happens AFTER the harm that is happening stops, folks. People are still actively being harmed. People are afraid for their lives. Calling for the end of that and taking action to stop it are the first steps, not hollow calls for coming together.

Just some advice as both a seasoned activist & a survivor of domestic violence : The idea that how you react to violence dictates whether or not more violence will be inflicted upon you/your community is a framing that only helps those in power.

I don't know if this is what you're looking for, but Against Me/Laura Jane Grace's "True Trans Soul Rebel" was the anthem for so, so many people who came out as trans in the mid 2010s. There are so many trans folks with tattoos that reference that song.
