Fun fact about the Salvation Army: they use a form of substance use treatment called work therapy. Oh, and by treatment, I mean they have people who have been convicted of drug charges work for their stores & warehouses in exchange for room, board, around a $1 a week, and minimal actual therapy.

Well, pushing for an end to religion does sort of imply pushing for an end to minority cultures, because “religion” doesn’t work the same way in those cultures as it evidently does in Christianity. And Christianity seems to be the only religion most of these folks are familiar with.

In addition to all the WW2 analogies in the comments, it reminds me of the need for something like an underground railroad. Loose networks like that have been built in this country every time the state puts its oppressive thumb on a vulnerable group. Abortion access also comes to mind. .
