The ALP govt has approved coal/gas projects that will emit a cumulative 6.5B tonnes of CO2 - roughly equal to 15 yrs of Australia’s total annual emissions.

There are more in the pipeline with another 38 new or expanded coal projects seeking approval

Labor’s slate for fossil fuel approvals
The Albanese government has already approved 31 fossil fuel projects, and more than that are waiting, even as renewables overtake coal as the top source of electricity.

New:
Censorship by any other name.
The National Press Club cancelled a speaker, Chris Hedges, who planned to address the mass killing of journalists in Gaza. The mainstream press didn’t report it.

There is no shortage of failed peace plans going back to Jimmy Carter. They end the same way. Israel gets what it wants while it ignores and violates, until it resumes its attacks.

Israel’s goals remain unchanged: the dispossession & erasure of Palestinians from their land.
Trump’s Sham Peace Plan
There will be no peace in Gaza. Only the temporary absence of war.

Limited liability is one of our weird silences. It's a massive free gift society makes to plutocrats, seldom remarked upon, let alone contested.
Shareholders should have to buy limited liability, like any other insurance. The insurers would then be liable. 🧵

Will UK taxpayers get their £122m back from PPE Medpro?
The high court told the company linked to Michelle Mone to pay up over the supply of defective gowns, but there appears no clear route to reclaim the funds

Note Thiel’s four-part lecture series on the Antichrist. We’re not in “normal” business times.

His extreme Christian culture war operations are at work in #auspol, and his surveillance state is here.

Not to mention that Milei, like David Seymour ( #NZpol Dep PM), Liz Truss, Sunak & many UK Tories, much of Trump, Milei is an #AtlasNetwork operator. These networks bail each other out. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

People really need to stop taking the Nobel Peace Prize seriously.

e.g. Kissinger won in 1973.
He orchestrated Secret US bombings in Cambodia killing 100,000s
He prolonged the Vietnam war for political gain — 100,000s more dead
He orchestrated covert ops to overthrow Chile’s democracy.

The Aust Parliament Sports Club (the one that ditched David Pocock) is now formally registered as a lobby group👇🏽

Anthony Albanese is the President of the Aust Parliament Sports Club.

That means the Prime Minister of Australia is currently the president of a lobby group.

Just utterly unbelievable.

Finally a member of the Australian Government calling for Australia to reassert our sovereignty over our own resources, rather than letting Japan dictate our energy policy and endlessly rip us off.

Imagine kicking the former national rugby captain out of your sports club instead of the gambling lobby.

To paraphrase Groucho Marx, who'd want to belong to a club that would accept Responsible Wagering Australia as one of its sponsors?

Indeed. In my many random conversations, I often comment that most people are time poor and stressed. It suits the top 1%.

How can anyone have any optimism about the world?

Actual realisable optimism?

Forgetting elections & impeachments & all that nonsense

Actual plausible possibilities?
