Remember that one of the first set of moves by the billionaire-stacked Trump posse was to strip the US tax office of the funds Biden’s lot had allocated.

Pursuing big money’s tax avoidance is expensive but reaps far more than the outlay.

Starving gov helps their bank balance & prevents action.

🧵 Regulations aren’t always best adjusted but are crucial. The demonisation of these protections by business is why the risks are growing. Tax strike by super rich, lobbying, stops government having the capacity to limit shortcuts & save lives. Abundance is the new version of 100y of spin.

Everyone, rightly, wants regulation and inspectors when their child is endangered or home builder is shonky or their air quality is poisoned by local industry. But big business, & this family daycare operator, was sick of the paperwork. Hated the expense of compliance. Propaganda discredits regs.

propaganda, pretending to be “green” but merely another way to say consume our unregulated product in abundance.

“Abundance” pretends business is will do right by us without coercion. A quick flick through history at all the ways regs & inspections stopped deadly shortcuts shows that’s bunk.

So then babies are killed, current affairs shows make profit airing the despair of homeowners who’ve lost everything, real news is now infotainment & works for its tax striking overlords anyway.
