A graphic shows bread and books alongside an agent's guide to The Bookery by Liz Lassiter, a 93,000 word cozy romantic fantasy novel in which a high-society witch discovers the joy of living for personal fulfillment rather than social clout, thanks to her sweet-as-sugar pastry chef tenant and the judgemental phoenix nesting in his bakery’s oven. A graphic shows bread and books alongside comparative titles for The Bookery by Liz Lassiter: The Phoenix Keeper, The Spellshop, Legends and Lattes, Howl's Moving Castle, and The House in the Cerulean Sea. A graphic shows bread and books alongside an excerpt from The Bookery, which reads:

Ishana turned a full circle in the entryway to see what her grandfather had left her with. To the left of the door a maze of bookshelves sat atop plush carpeting, interspersed with oversized armchairs and mismatched reading lamps.
The opposite side of the building held Dominic’s bakery, in which the main attraction—aside from the doughy but irritatingly delightful baker—was the massive brick oven that took up an entire wall of the shop. Neighboring walls were plastered with framed posters boasting corny, baking-themed sayings like ‘bake the world a better place’, ‘donut worry, be happy’, and ‘sweet treats cure crumby days’.
“What…quirky decor,” Ishana commented, trying to get a read on the man grinning at her across the long, glass display case stuffed with freshly baked pastries. “Is that your brand? Pastries heal all wounds?”
He laughed. “I don’t know if I’d call it my brand so much as my philosophy. Everything’s better with something sweet to snack on. Oh, speaking of which, I have a welcome gift for you!” From atop his workstation, Dominic plucked a basket so full the top flaps couldn’t quite shut. “I wasn’t sure what you liked, so I put in a bit of everything. Pretzels, bagels, muffins, bread, danishes… No nuts in anything in case you’re allergic. And if there’s something you like that I didn’t make, I gladly take requests.”
Ishana’s mind whirred to identify his motive. Buttering her up, most likely. Hoping to garner her favor since she’d be his landlord—for now, at least.

I try to live by this in my daily life! It's not about being the bigger person, it's about showing someone there's another way, that kindness is a viable solution 🫶

An excerpt from the cozy romantic fantasy novel The Bookery reads:

The limit of Nicky’s patience was apparently one week. Seven days of seeing Ishana only at mealtimes, their conversations brief and uncomfortable—or, in recent days, entirely nonexistent. Nicky had begun to suspect she was avoiding him, and that just wouldn’t do. How was he supposed to show her the joy of The Bookery, entice her to fall in love with life above the shop, if she never showed her face?
The answer, Nicky decided, was a picnic. While Florien manned the register, Nicky packed sandwiches, hand pies, and thermoses of tea and coffee into a picnic basket lined with cheery red-and-white plaid.
“You’re sure this isn’t a stupid idea?” He asked Florien for the umpteenth time. “What if she laughs at me?”
Florien shook their head, giant nose swinging from side to side like a stony pendulum, and Nicky forced a smile. It still surprised him how old wounds resurfaced at the most inopportune times; today, he was haunted by memories of playground gangs hurling slurs at the soft boy in class, the one with ragged clothes and greasy hair and a taped-together heart that never stopped beating for other people. Ishana might slam the door in the face of his friendship, just like those schoolyard bullies, but she might not—and, as Wylie had been fond of saying, goodness can’t grow where it’s never planted.
“You’re right,” Nicky said. “Who doesn’t love a picnic? And she’s got to be tired of sitting up in that apartment day after day.”

HOUSE OF LEAVES x THE GIVER

Inside, the Tenement is an endless maze of halls & doors.

An image of an eerie wooden hallway with yellow lighting and a vaguely veiny, organic quality to the walls. At the center of the image, the hallway disappears into a swirl of blackness. Text reads: “FOLLOW THE RULES. PAY THE RENT. DON’T ASK QUESTIONS. AN AGENT’S GUIDE TO TENEMENT, A YA DYSTOPIAN MYSTERY.”
TENEMENT moodboard featuring:
A window onto a black void
A tattered photograph of a woman’s silhouette in a hallway, with the words “Where is Cassie Walker?” typed at the bottom
A dark creepy hallway with wooden floors
A compass
A hand holding a lantern
Cramped library shelves stuffed with books
Another dark creepy hallway with wooden floors
A creepy wooden staircase
TEXT:
(Top left) "I punched the curtain between my fingers and folded it back... And what I saw was... Nothing "
(Top right) "All we knew was we had to keep doing it month after month and not ask questions... Pay the rent or die in the dark."
(Center) "No one ever left the Tenement. That was Rule Number One."
(Bottom) "I wanted to argue. I wanted to tell him that this whole place was an evil machine designed to stifle every ounce of curiosity and joy out of our souls. I wanted to tell him I felt sorry for him, because the machine had already succeeded in stifling his own soul. And maybe my mother had the right idea-- maybe escaping out a Back Door was better than living like this." A dimly lit frame with the first four Rules of the Tenement:
RULE ONE
Under no circumstances shall anyone leave the Tenement.
RULE TWO
The Front Door is to remain shut and locked at all times.
RULE THREE
Any windows that appear are to remain closed, with the curtains drawn, and should be avoided until they disappear again. Tenants are forbidden from looking upon the outside.
RULE FOUR
These Rules, being given to us by our Landlord and passed down unchanged from the founding of the Tenement, shall be inscribed into the heart and mind of every tenant for the wellbeing of all

LEGENDBORN x STRANGER THINGS x ATLANTIS

A girl and her maddeningly charming childhood friend shelter a young star who falls to their sinking hometown while also trying to solve a string of disappearances surrounding a local lab.

#bluepit #bluepit📖 #agentsguide #YA #F #R #SF #M #SP #Q #OV #POC #ND
A purple background with light colored stars. The text reads "An Agent's Guide to Starfallen By: Nia Brown YA Low Fantasy 115K Words" At the very bottom is the tagline "The sun by day. The moon by night. Recite these words. Release the light. This post is split into two sections. On the left side is a collage of eight square images. Image 1 is of a glowing figure with no distinct features. Image 2 is of a pair of hands, cradling a glowing purple object. Image 3 is a picture of the universe tinted purple. Image 4 is a close-up of a dark-skinned individual focusing on their eye which has a violet iris. Image 5 is two people standing in the middle of a road in the woods with backpacks. Image 6 is of an empty street lined with trees and lit by light blue otherworldly light. Image 7 is of a dark-skinned individual with short afro-textured hair, white eyes, and a serious expression. They are wearing an accessory that covers their face in a lattice pattern with miniature diamond emblems at each intersection. Image 8 is a still shot of a young animated figure running towards a star in the distance with their arms spread.

To the right is text that reads "the pitch" is in all caps. Beneath it reads Legendborn x Stranger Things in all caps. Beneath that is the pitch which reads "Three years ago, Jada Fraser fled to her hometown after having nearly burnt it to the ground, but returns to find it now subject to flood waters rather than flames. She is convinced their saving grace lies in wish-granting stars—but they haven’t come to Earth in decades...

That is until one falls from the sky—her chance at redemption.

The only problem? It’s just a kid that can hardly control its magic. She teams up with her (maddeningly) charming childhood friend, Khalil Kirkwood, to protect the star which is being hunted by forces both human and celestial. But there are other odd happenings. Strange disappearances. Constellation beasts in the woods. And North Star Labs whose scientists are all hiding something.

It's either sink or swim as a catastrophic flood threatens to take everything before summer’s end." On a blue background are two navy boxes. On the left it has an underlined title that reads What To Expect. Beneath that, there are bulletin points that read celestial magic. Snarky, supernatural kid. Something is wrong in the woods. Slow burn+friends to lovers+mutual yearning. Literary themes w/ commercial appeal. Main cast: BIPOC, disabled, neurodivergent (diabetic, ptsd, anxiety, fat, burns MC rep)

In the box to the right, the title reads Literary Comps in all caps. Beneath it are images of three books. Tracy Deonn's Legendborn which has an illustrated cover of a black girl with her arms wreathed in glowing magic on the cover. Ava Reid's A Study in Drowning which has an illustrated cover of a girl standing with her back turned in front of an older looking desk in a room of rising water. And Where the Dark Stands Still by A.B. Poranek which has an illustrated cover of a young woman wearing a dress standing in lush woods while a figure with antlers stands behind her in the shadows. Beneath each of the books is more text. Under Legendborn it reads Black FMC, Modern Magic, and Small Southern Town. Under A Study in Drowning, it reads Compelling Mystery and Real World w/ Fantasy Elements. Under, Where the Dark Stands Still, it reads Lush Atmosphere and Unsettling Forest. On a blue background is a navy rectangle. At the top of it in blue capital letters it reads Opening Scene and is framed by stars on either side. Beneath it is a screenshot of a scene which reads:

Jada Fraser always found herself on the wrong side of the law. Today was no exception. The contents of her bag beat against her back with every pounding step. Binoculars, camera, and her trusty notepad—everything she needed to procure proper proof.
“Stop! You’re trespassing on private property!”
A glance over her shoulder revealed an officer hot on her heels. He raised his arms, leveling a taser directly at her back.
“Any further and I’ll fire!”
Jada dove behind a tree, just in time to hear a sharp whine pierce the air.
Silver wires struck a nearby trunk and electricity crackled beneath the bark.
The acrid scent spurred her back into motion.
Through the branches, she finally caught a glimpse of blue. If she could just reach the lake, she’d finally prove to everyone that something strange was going on—that she wasn’t crazy.
“This is your last chance!” the officer shouted.
He was right. This was her last chance. She couldn’t afford to stop now.

Three-panel moodboard consisting of three pieces by Alphonse Mucha.

Left: Emerald. A serpent snarls at the viewer from amidst green lilies.
Center: The Moon. A woman wearing nothing but a navy blanket covered in stars stands against a backdrop consisting of the night sky and a crescent moon. She covers her smile with one hand. This image is noticeably lower in quality than its neighboring panels.
Right: Salon des Cent. A woman conceals her mouth with a hand, her index finger curled down. She's glaring intensely at the viewer.

A golden filigree lines the bottom and frames the sides, partially covering the left and right panels.

Three Friends, One "Love" Story
For a while, Anissa, Peyton and Charly were all each other had. Friendship is an
involuntary reflex. Eut as they keep aging out. of their twenties, doubts about their bond start to creep up.

Peyton seems to get nervous when Charly hugs him, and blushes scarlet when Anissa smiles at him. But that's stupid-right? Can you- even love-two people like-that. at the same time?

Anissa has secretly been binge-scrolling through aroace tumblr blogs for weeks now, it all seems to click, but she wants to be a mom, always has. Rahim from the marriage app is nice, but would he accept her?

Charly has no problem getting people heartbeats to pick up, but married life is not his thing. He just wants to write his scripts, marriage would just be a distraction.

Love is different for everyone, they might learn it the hard way though.
Charly’s POV: I think I just might be doomed, accidentally and through no fault of my own, to get randoms to fall in love with me…. I fucking hate that.
I roll my eyes at the text on my phone’s screen, turn it off and then gaze back at the script in front of me. Babe is a couple’s monniker. A way for someone to claim you in the name of love, romantic love. We met for drinks and came back to my apartment for some light roleplay… once. Seriously? This is a fucking nightmare.

Anissa’s POV: “Yeah, it’s pretty big.” I agree. “But I think I’m ready, my bachelor’s will be ready next year, it will be my recovery anniversary around the same time and I…” I trail off. Then sigh again.
“I really want a baby.” There I said it.
I don’t expect any judgement from my best friend, nor anybody in my broader social circle for that matter. But it still feels weird to be so open about what I want. Maybe my therapist is right and I did build some protective walls around myself over the years… or something like that.
“You’l be an amazing mum,” Peyton says. Lightly punching my shoulder with affection, my heart does a bit of a summersault. “The world could use more of those.”

Peyton’s POV: Sure, I'm the bloke who lives in a trailer on the outskirts of the city, but it's mine. The apprenticeship degree does earn me money, aside from his gig at the local cafeteria, and music producing for movies is also the only career that doesn’t make him want to bang my head against a wall... I am also the bloke who needs to prove time and time again his rich family doesn’t want anything to do with him, nor with his disabled uncle (the only person in said family who treats me like an actual human being), so the government would also take a bit of pity on us and help us out.

I'm just Peyton, who loves his best friends more than anything and isn’t quite sure how he landed such amazing people. But dammit if he's not going to fight for them…

 That is my truth.
