I officially love it here

On the other hand, my ex (that same ex) used to call him up (Asimov's number was publicly available) for homework help. And Asimov would give it.

Probably bc curious boys, but whatever.

He used to slap his editor on the butt - we all saw it.

It was lost. I'm not sure who lost it - could've been my ex (not that he would protect me, but perhaps it was an incursion on his "property"), could've just been a casualty of moving. But yeah. That happened.

He did. I was one of them - not at a convention, but as an editorial assistant at Doubleday. He wrote me a limerick. It wasn't great.

I remember 4 phone numbers from my childhood, two of which are still valid - I am 60.

If anyone needs me I will be in the museum, lying down next to the bog bodies.
Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?
2? Questions
I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?

It's like being trapped in a nightmare that you never wake up from.

As a nation - hell, as a WORLD - we are being abused and traumatized every day by these people.

Which means maybe it's not cognitive dissonance, but that people really are this evil, right here, right now.

Because all the evidence points that way.
ljndawson.bsky.social
That kind of cognitive dissonance is just mind-boggling to me. But as my mother used to say, "If you could understand crazy, I'd be worried about you."

"No, Johnny, I'm not buying you new Nazis - we have Nazis at home."

I mean, it's kind of scary how the evangelical Christian movement in the US mirrors this.

Or maybe it's on purpose.

This is the part I am genuinely baffled by. The only thing I can think of is this: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Positiv...

The weird upside-down value system of the right: being awake and aware is bad. Antifa - opposing fascism - is bad. Empathy - simple human decency - is bad. & then they carry on about the Antichrist as if they couldn't so easily find it in their mirror.

Clearly having a biracial princess in the family is far more scandalous than pedophilia. Charles was tight with Savile, Peter Ball (pedophile priest), Laurens Van der Post.

Every time someone makes me read something Peter Thiel said it’s like “Scrooge McDuck is Jesus Christ and Huey, Dewey, and Louie are Gabriel, Raphael, and Uriel and Daisy is Mary Magdalene and that’s why women voting has lowered American sperm count.”
