my self destruct sequence also makes every room quake like it's coming apart with dust falling from the ceiling as an accessibility concession to any deaf workers who cant hear the alarm. its a health and safety requirement.

classic mistake when designing a self destruct sequence for your secret base is making it so that the base starts spontaneously disintegrating *before* the countdown ends. buddy the whole point of the countdown is so your henchmen have time to get to their cars. why are the girders melting

remembered about that interview on the preorder cd for dark souls
KEI HIRONO, Producer, NAMCO BANDAI Games Inc.
The world design is something that the team is particularly
proud of. Though, we did have to reduce the number of swamps. A designer would complete a mock-up for a castle level, and
Mr Miyazaki would look at it and say "Can this be a swamp?" One day, we came in and found that Mr Miyazaki had flooded his
office and was hopping around on the carpet barefoot, squealing with joy. "Splish splash!" he screamed, over and over.
"Splish splash!"

not to point at anyone in particular, but I have been in and on many different internet communities of various shapes/sizes/technologies and one mistake I consistently see made is assuming the technical part of running a community is the hard part.

it's not.
it's the social part.
it's moderation.

worth pointing out that "end of support" does not mean the operating system suddenly stops working and drops dead. you won't get updates, but for most people this will not matter at all, at least for a year or two.
