Sometimes it’s OK to turn around. This small herd of Mule Deer bucks was concerned as I approached on the trail, so I turned around and let them be. I never take our local deer population for granted.

Bracing walk. It's been a quiet summer and autumn on patch and I have all but given up on having a Whinchat this year! I have the Ravens though so can't complain! Highlights today: Barn Owl, Pink-footed Geese, LBB and BH large Gull flock, Chiffchaffs, Kestrels, Buzzards, Mipits. #ukbirding
