Nothing fills me with a sense of dread quite like the work of artist Chris Van Allsburg. When I was very young, his illustrations terrified me just as much as the ones in Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, but in a way I didn't even have words to describe yet. I just finished this up in a SmArtSchool mentorship class with Sam Weber. 😊 The assignment was to create an illustration with an original character, and I went with my current D&D character 😅

This ruined ski resort is one of a couple little scenes I painted for Gone to Gaia. It'll be displayed in segments on a card, at a pretty small size, so there wasn't as much concern about polishing it up as there usually is. I really wanted it to look eerie, but also exciting and beautiful 💜

Sponge anteater for gone to Gaia! I added the little baby on its tail because I thought it would be cute, but now I'm realizing that the players fight the anteater so it might be sad, actually 😅
