Fun fact: despite the enormous land mass, the population-weighted density of Canada — basically the density experienced by the average person — is the same as Denmark and close to the Netherlands.

Canada and Denmark are 3,000 people per km², while the Netherlands is 3,400/km².

Thanks to @paleolimbot.bsky.social's great work, the sedonadb R package is now also available to Windows via R-universe 🎉 I'm excited particularly because I believe sedonadb is the easiest tool for R users to access GeoParquet data. #rstats

is shinyapps.io deprecated to make way for Connect Cloud? I'm used to publishing to shinyapps from RStudio but just realized that it's not available in #positron right now.

I'm often amazed at how much typing I've saved myself by using `dput(names())` when working with #RStats.

I wrote about this back in 2024, and I was reminded about it's utility again today: www.collinberke.com/til/posts/20...

Sussex here. Yep, I can confirm twitten. Even used as proper road names in 9 locations in West Sussex. Here's one in Crawley...
bob <- st_read(geodata, layer = "TSS Checklist",
               query = "SELECT *  FROM \"TSS Checklist\" WHERE Street LIKE '%TWITTEN%'")
bob <- bob |> select(USRN, Street)

Not a problem. The personal glory would be bad if it wasn't for the humility with which individuals readily answer follow up questions. The willingness to help each other is what makes this space great.

Like in 10^1000 years, eh? Probably time for another coffee.

Still, it's amazing how much time passed in the universe before anything could happen and how long after everything that could happen has happened before the universe is finally snuffed out. Makes you wonder if time is just an abstract.
