I have been really getting worried for so many people in our community when SNAP ends Nov 1st

My concern is how any normally sane person acts when they are truly hungry… like, is there going to be a sudden turn in petty theft & breakins, etc?

It’s disgusting to see how the govt is out for itself.

Figured I'd share, this was my proposal for a sculpture at the Sister Cities bridge in rochester. It was timbers fished from the river, cured, then messages from rochestarians carved into the wood & filled, the whole thing sealed and then built into the roc logo.
I didn't get the grant.

Same. I was only there for a little bit. And was chauffeuring people around.

I do what I do for every protest. I bring a bag full of markers, tape, foam, clips, and better sticks to help people improve and fix their protest signs.

I was at the one downtown and I really do think that nationally there were more than 7 million people. I didn’t register for anything and there were a few friends that were there that just showed up. Was good to see a nice turn out like that.

So I took time to text back and forth, answered their questions and what shocked me was that the things I talked about with links to show I wasn’t lying they had zero clue on. They thought I was making stuff up.

I felt the wall come up as I kept getting them to understand facts.

Was a tough day.

The second thing is that they actually took time to ask questions. Apparently this spawned from some video online where they are asking people to talk to their friends about no-kings day. It seemed like a propaganda marketing campaign to target small social connections.

Had two red-hat old friends message me in a group chat to “talk about a problem” the problem: I have drank the proverbial blue koolaid. they took it upon themselves to reach out.

Was answering person’s question online about painting when this asshat starts being a dick & asking me to prove myself as an artist.(wut?)
So I sent him screenshots of 4 years being nomination for best artist in the city.
Not normally a flex I would do, but felt good.

I just got the weirdest hate message from a guy on FB about the no kings protest… his avatar is him with his mixed race kids and very clearly Hispanic wife?! I looked at the pic and couldn’t believe it. I actually am here because I worry about what might happen to your kids, dude. wtf?!?
