So their version of originality is mostly about complex calculations. It tells you something about their version of originality when their best example is maths. I have a lot of respect for the field, but you're not going to write 80.000 words defending the number 3.5, are you?

I read an interview with Sam Altman that clarified so much for me. You know how ChatGPT-5 promised PhD level assisstants? Well, apparently it can do higher level maths that most people will never need. I once talked to a mathematician who said they are mostly needed on collaborative Physics projects

Seems like the worst time to start sharing your citizens' biometric data with the US government

The EU-Commission wants to negotiate a very sensitive agreement that would allow US authorities direct (!) access to police-stored fingerprints & facial images in Europe.
Potentially, all travelers could be affected by this #EBSP – and people in need for protection.

Coming to realise that I suffer from post-Brexit trauma where you automatically assume the EU is always right - which they aren't at the best of times, and these are not the best of times - just because that's your side in the culture wars.

Is Steven Miller's wife giving interviews about how horny she is for her husband because of that weird throuple-rumour a few months ago (or a few days- what is time anyway?)? That she left to be with the other guy in their throuple.

Hey, I'm trying to learn more about toxicity on Bluesky. How often do you see toxicity on here? Where in the app do you see it?

Tbf, when writers don't know how to end a story, it either turns out that everyone was dead all along, or that it was all a dream.

When musicians don’t know how to end a song, they just fade out. I think other writers should do that too. Sketch comedy, screenwriting, playwrights. Have everyone talk softer and softer as they slowly sneak off stage.
Novelists can end chapters with gradually shrinking type.

There are more recent adaptations as well. There’s a pretty good German one and, tbf, a contemporary US one would probably need to include gun violence, and other countries don't do that. This was standard curriculum in Germany when I went to school. The link to the movie is incuded in the thread.
