One of the things that irritates me about the worst centrist commentators is the juxtaposition between the self-consciously "adult" tone and the breezy superficiality of the analysis; usually just building off instinctive appeals to elite conventional wisdom.

Jacobin published an article about how socialism and liberalism can work toward the same ends, how left-liberals can be pushed toward economic democratization.

And well, yes.

"Economic democratization" is a meaningless phrase, so of course it can be adapted to liberal ends.
