Hi new n old followers or anyone that may see my posts.
Please note most my Bonsai are still new or young so I'm kind of sharing the development story from early on.
There are many more advanced out there mine are humble hobby level.
Mostly follow best practices as I understand them. I like forests.
Chamiecyparis pisifera bonsai forest in a dark blue oval pot with moss covered soil surface and rock landscape. Liquidamber bonsai forests in 3 scales each in dark earth coloured bonsai pots. Moss covers the soil surface of each group. All 3 are shown as a combined forest on a timber deck. Sequoia bonsai in a dark earth coloured and rectangular bonsai pot.

This is not Switzerland, not Canada - this is Ukraine, where every season paints the mountains anew.

Autumn ignites the Ukrainian Carpathians. Golden ridges, fiery-red forests, and misty valleys reveal a beauty unlike anywhere else.

Well this is good news!
Whakatāne mayor-elect! #nzpol

I feel stink about the local elections for the attack that it was on Māori wards & the ignorance/indifference of those voting to cast informed votes.
I feel that the momentum of this racism that also takes advantage of ignorance was started a year ago. Momentum against has started & building #NZpol

From the City Vision whānau, we are deeply grateful for all the support.

We have amazing volunteers who are part of the movement for a more liveable, safe, and connected Auckland.

This election is dedicated to Robert Gallagher, who led the City Vision kaupapa with wisdom & strength for so long.

Managed to leave the Hamilton Bonsai Show yesterday without buying more trees.

But pots ...well

Got a new one that may suit the small Sheoak forest upgrade.

And a used pot in great condition that may be for a pot upgrade for the oak forest but may also suit a large deciduous single.

Reddish earth coloured oval bonsai pot. New from the show. Olive green oval bonsai pot. The was a used one but good character and not damage so very nice. Reddish earth coloured oval bonsai pot. New from the show. In the new pot it has a small Sheoak bonsai forest planted in a reddish earth coloured rectangular pot with moss covered soil surface. In front of that a single Sheoak in a heavily textured round pot with moss covered soil surface. It would be the lead tree if I was to put all these bonsai in to the new pot and create a larger forest. Olive green oval bonsai pot. The was a used one but good character and not damage so very nice. Sitting in the olive pot is a European oak bonsai forest in an earth coloured oval pot with moss covered soil surface.

Yeah that's the good thing about club shows they don't take themselves too seriously and you get some gems and this was just 👌
memycoffeenbonsai.bsky.social
Yeah its hard to choose a favourite. I just have not seen many real good old looking kōwhai bonsai so far which made me think that one was a stand out for me. I did see a ral good kōwhai forest last time I went though. Glad you went to the show a dark enjoyed it.

Ok after an afternoon of results, texts, calls, messages on other apps and emails, I have some thoughts on today’s Local Election results

1) Voter turnout is depressing. 32%ish on average across AoNZ is pathetic.
2) The Māori Wards referendum should never have happened - it was a racebaiting farce…
memycoffeenbonsai.bsky.social
Not first tome voting for me but much more aware of the political environment and first time I've voted feeling informed enough to make an educated choice. Thanks Paul

Did many cookers get into councils?
memycoffeenbonsai.bsky.social
Bit stink.. but always keeping an ear out for where you go next ..you're a force to be reckoned with and one with many options....that's great for you and it's what opponents can't handle.
All the best for what you choose to do next.

Special mention for @misswhanau.bsky.social in Andrew Little's victory party speech:

"Public service demands courage, and Tory has shown it. She has faced toxic behaviour that no-one should ever have to endure."

Dawn Redwood Metasequoia #Bonsai forest.
These all show much older bark character than my young ones at home. Nice to see such an example.

Dawn Redwood Metasequoia bonsai forest composition in an oval pot with texture to echo that of the tree trunks. Pot colour is olive green on light clay. On a bamboo mat. Accent is a lenth of succulent foliage or branch on a thin rectangle of wood. Dawn Redwood Metasequoia bonsai forest composition in an oval pot with texture to echo that of the tree trunks. Tall juniper #Bonsai with nice deadwood and live vein contrast .
Nice wavy texture mat and accent structures.

Giant radiata pine #Bonsai
Sometimes nice go large to let enough base develop to eventually show lots of beautiful bark texture.
