The best way to prove that America is indeed an idea, and not a people, is to rally its people to that idea. To do so, the Dems need to embrace it and express their vision of it in clear, inspiring and affective language.

That, more than any policy agenda, is what it will take to defeat Trumpism.
The pairing of DJs is 100% the greatest thing K has done in the last few years - I love listening to their chatter. (I suppose I miss having kids that age in the house on the regular.)
A movie you've seen more than seven times with a GIF
Thanks for the heads up! This and Rock and Roll Over have been consistently my favorite K shows. And that kid who used to play Prince 45s at 33 1/3 just to goad the olds.

Reminder that this fall, Radio K’s Mountain Connections program has moved from Sunday mornings to Sunday evenings.

It’s on right now and they’re playing a set that includes Hurray for the Riff Raff’s Junebug Waltz
Here in Topeka the rain is a fallin'
The faucet is a drippin' and the kids are a bawlin'
One of them a toddlin' and one is a crawlin'
And one's on the way

Thank you Radio K for this Loretta Lynn Sunday morning

Here's the mask I made representing the Bean-nighe a spirit from Scottish folklore, also known as the "washerwoman," who washes the bloodstained clothes of those about to die. She is considered a harbinger of death, similar to a banshee, and is typically found by desolate streams, pools, or fords.

So, cops get overtime that costs more than giving free food to the poor.

If you want or need SNAP benefits, literally the only barrier should be...signing up.

"But what about fraud?" My sibling in red, white, and blue, THE PENTAGON HASN'T PASSED AN AUDIT IN YEARS AND MONEY IS FAKE. I don't care if too many people have food assistance.
Got my first trick or treater of the night: the girl across the street in a dinosaur costume, escorted by her unicorn dad. Her bucket was empty, I hope it’s overflowing by the time she’s traversed the neighborhood!
My husband is an actor. He was in two plays, “Luther” and “Nobody Loves an Albatross” and he’s done a lot of TV and advertisements.

The underpasses are bad enough. But by blocking them off, our local governments have made it effectively impossible for my neighbors from the poorest, least white parts of our neighborhood to access East Franklin’s businesses, health services, and above all, the light rail

An estimated 15.7 million workers use SNAP. It’s a lifeline for those in low-wage jobs.

Meanwhile, CEOs are paid 280x as much as the typical worker.

Don’t be angry at workers for using food stamps.

Be angry at the corporations paying them so little that they need them.
Mr. Thurman is at rest in the cemetery where he was the caretaker and watchman, having passed on 22 years after the ghost attack. I should hope that he straightened that situation out and the spirits of Sunset Memorial are better behaved now. ancestors.familysearch.org/en/LBFG-8VD/...

Great thread (unintended pun ...) on multi-cultural labor organizing in the garment industries and elsewhere.

Vance is no friend of the worker.
JD Vance claims that diversity weakens unions, as people end up distrusting each other and not organizing.

Let me tell you two menswear stories related to this claim. 🧵

Instead of breaking up, the workers galvanized. Tens of thousands of workers from different ethnic background marched through Lawrence, holding flags and singing in the streets. Their determination eventually won out and the moment is remembered as the "Bread and Roses Strike."
