It was developed by inScape, who made a few other interesting adventure games like the one they designed with The Residents. Also TIL inScape is short for "inner landscapes" and possibly the most 90s multimedia ass name ever

More folks should check out The Dark Eye, an adventure game from 1995. The game uses stop motion animation to tell stories by Edgar Allen Poe and features narration by William S Burroughs. Playable in ScummVM too!

I think all of the Tron movies have sorta flopped to some extent so I think there’s just a very vocal fandom and maybe a long tail on dvd sales?
