Evidence shows that children are now using e-cigarettes at higher rates than adults, a consequence of targeted marketing by the nicotine industry.

Under the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child #UNCRC, children and young people have the right to health.

Disturbing. WHO may not be perfect, but it’s by a long way the best WHO we have. We need to keep supporting the many outstanding people who work there.

Excellent and encouraging Canadian Cancer Society report on tobacco pack warnings internationally. 140 jurisdictions have graphic warnings; 27 have adopted plain packaging, another 3 have it in practice; 14 more on the way. Canada and Australia also have warnings on individual cigarettes.

Excellent comments, as one would expect. Is there any politician around the world who has been actively involved in supporting tobacco control for longer than former UK Cabinet Minister Lord Young - a strong supporter of ASH since his initial election as an MP in 1974?!
Lord Young also made a powerful speech highlighting that the 6 million current smokers in the UK should not be forgotten, and why the Government should publish a road map to a smokefree country.
