🚨 Happy to share my article on recent US pressures against EU #digital regulation, and Europe's (potential) response. Even after the #EU-#US #trade framework agreement, transatlantic relations remain volatile.

NEW: An Oxford report warns that misleading media coverage is shaping public debate on immigration and human rights.

The study finds the ECHR is frequently misreported in deportation cases, fueling misconceptions that erode trust in the legal system.

🇪🇺 75 years since Schuman’s vision, Europe remains a community of law.
But today, the rule of law is being tested, by digital disruption, shrinking trust, & shifting values.

@uni.lu researchers @lcel.uni.lu ask:
Quo vadis, Europe?
What’s next for the legal backbone of the EU?

OK. Tariff corner. Today, the first Trump tariffs came into force for EU & UK goods. First up: steel. As of March 12 steel articles (defined in Proclamation 9705) are subject to a 25% tariff. So are derivative steel articles (defined in Proclamation 9980). /1

My comment on the Romanian Constitutional Court’s decision to annul elections is available now on @verfassungsblog.de Looking forward to discussing it!

On December 6th, the Romanian Constitutional Court annulled the Presidential Elections, mandating a complete re-do.

@alinacarrozzini.bsky.social on why the ruling was both necessary and legally sound and yet counterproductive for Romanian democracy.

Glad to share my CELIS article on the Commission’s anti-subsidy investigation in Chinese electric vehicles. It illustrates the geopoliticisation of trade enforcement and, arguably, affirms the ‘de-risking’ approach to EU-China economic relations.
