Wow! Hi new followers! I’m Kenz, I’m a professional haunt performer & I’m currently making a horror-comedy comic series called Fossilized. My story deals with themes of existentialism, escapism, & humanity. If you like paleontology, monsters, gore, & nuanced morally-crooked characters, welcome!
Nergal, an anthropomorphic adalatherium with a raptor skull hat on, sits on a dilapidated throne made of black stone on top of an ancient temple. He has a malicious grin and white eyes. He is twirling a cup filled with a strange brownish liquid. Icky, a misanthropic large grey anthropomorphic squirrel, holds a shotgun as he’s backed against the wall. Fire light glows against him as wears an expression of intense paranoia on his face. There is text that reads “there’s a caveman in the walls” around him. Mushhush, a large, toothy, multi-armed mammalian worm-like monster that Nergal stretches into, roars angrily into the sky as he is skewered with many crude spears and arrows. A fiery meteor swirls above him. Geshtu, a blue anthropomorphic Cronopio Dentiacutis, who has red markings smeared around his eyes, hands, and tail, holds a tektite dagger in one hand and a blood stained bowl in the other. It is almost as if he is offering it to the audience. His white eyes leak upwards and into the moon above as its light shines on him.

Comic with Nergal and Geshtu in a dark underground cavern. There is a lake of blood around the island of rock that they are on. Some torches are lit, giving the cavern an ominous glow. Panel 1: Nergal is in the background popping out of a crack in the ground, one hand behind his back. He is hollering “OHHHH GESHTUUUU!” In the foreground, Geshtu is holding a pot of blood. He looks irritated. Panel 2: Geshtu looks over his shoulder and glowers. Panel 3: An unimpressed closeup of his face. “Yes Nergal? What is it?” He says. Panel 4: Nergal has his arm around Geshtus shoulder all chummy like. Geshtu looks inconvenienced. Nergal: “I got a surprise for you~” Geshtu: “Do you now?” Panel 5: Nergal leans in closer to Geshtu, invading his personal space. Nergal: “Ahw, don’t give me that face! It’s something reeeal neat! Fresh from the surface…” Panel 6: nergal leans in even closer, Geshtu is now standing at an angle. Nergal: “You’ve never seen anything like it. I swear it’s gonna blow your mi-“ Panel 7: close up of Geshtus face, he’s mad. Geshtu: CEASE SPEAKING. AND SIMPLY UNVEIL IT TO ME.” Panel 8: Nergal cups his face with a hand and looks bashful as Geshtus shadow looms over him. Nergal: “Teehee~ Okey-dokey!” Comic with Nergal and Geshtu in a dark underground cavern. There is a lake of blood around the island of rock that they are on. Some torches are lit, giving the cavern an ominous glow. Panel 1: Nergal holds up the chunky instant camera he had behind his back excitedly. It says “click n pic” on it. Nergal: Get a load of THIS! A magical picture box that captures your SOUL!” Panel 2: Nergal shoves the camera in Geshtus face and snaps a photo, flash blinding Geshtu. Geshtu drops his pot of blood and it crashes onto the ground. Panel 3: Gesthu rubs his eyes while Nergal excitedly waits for the camera to dispense the photo. Panel 4: Geshtu, now able to see, looks as Nergal pulls out the little photo from the camera. Geshtu has a look of curiosity and uncertainty on his face. Panel 5: Geshtus eyes dart around as the uneasiness of what Nergal told him starts to grow. He sweats a bit and fidgets with his finger tips. Nergal, not noticing, is waving the photo to speed up it developing. Panel 6: Geshtu leans over Nergal worriedly as Nergal is now admiring the picture he took. Geshtu: “Does…does it really capture your soul…?” Nergal, shrugging and looking unconcerned as he looks at the photo: “Ah’dunno.”

The god trio, Nergal the Adalatherium (misfortune), Gesthu the Cronopio Dentiacutus (blood), and Dumuzi the Kimbetopsalis Simmonsae (rebirth), are stacked on top of each other vertically like a pillar. Nergal flashes a malicious grin as he wrings the severed neck of a small theropod dinosaur, making it ooze blood into the dish that Geshtu is holding beneath him. Geshtu is holding a dish of blood with his head slightly tilted upwards and is dipping the bowl downwards so that the blood inside pours out onto the top of Dumuzis head. Dumuzis eye is widened as she has blood raining down over her and saturating her, her hands are held out as if invoking some kind of dark magic. All three have solid white eyes, and there is lighting coming from below them, giving them a warm downward glow as shadows are cast over and behind them. Above the stack of them is a logo of a bone with crossed spears that reads “FOSSILIZED”

Yeah lol the whole point of horror is to explore uncomfortable things and things that we fear! Also they have a section on their site where they are talking about what they are looking for and it’s so narrowminded and specific. It completely limits any creativity at all
