i recently realized what a strong influence spelling bee was on how I write kids, it's so good at holding "kids are entire human beings with interiority and an authentic relationship to the world around them" and "kids are weird and funny" simultaneously

i think the most elegant solution will probably be to mark comics i enthusiastically recommend to kids, and also mark comics that have enough grisly or sexual content to earn a little "viewer discretion advised". everything else can just be there
