If we want to take back our democracy. We need the algorithm regulated as a public utility like television and book publishing. Algorithms cannot be controlled by sociopathic tech CEOs.

No I haven’t but it has just been added to my list. I’m have been trying to go back in history to try to understand how people can believe and worship someone as evil and odious as Trump. Something in human psychology wants to follow a demagogue and I want to find out what it is.

Trump and his master Roy Cohn don’t believe in truth, only power. I suggest watching “The Apprentice” movie. Trump’s entire worldview is laid out. If enough Dems internalize this then they will be more effective countering Trump.

Well then we are doomed as a species. Everyone trying to scam one another in an attempt to increase money, power, status will destroy humanity. Between climate change and AI I don’t think we have more than a few decades left anyways.

be in power. Hindenburg was already ruling as a dictator 3 years before hitler became chancellor. The comparison to now is the corporate elite and definitely the tech elite have decided that democracy is now getting in the way of wealth creation and technological growth.

I just read “The Weimar Years” by Frank McDonough. I agree 100%. It’s not well understood but Germany was already heading towards dictatorship before hitler came to power. Germany’s ruling elite decided in 1930 that they would rather create an authoritarian state than let the social democrats

Correct. It was just a misdirection to get the remaining hostages out. The tell tail sign was Ben Givir and Smotrich didn’t collapse the government. The ethnic cleansing will resume unfortunately.

We need more of this, and from more people. Rolling your eyes as if to say "We all know how they are" (or worse, "Don't get distracted") has been a big strategic mistake. Democratic politicians have to meet the brutality of MAGA rhetoric with outrage--and then, when necessary, match it.

It always was. My GOP voting family was always terrified of the “bad” neighborhoods in the 90s and 00s. Obama as president and the increase in non white immigration in the 2010s completely radicalized them.

Americans are the most complacent creatures ever to have walked the earth. The level of resignation is staggering.
