Apologies for the sarcasm but I can't help myself. It's probably best to assume I'm being sarcastic unless there's a frowny face. Descriptions of pictures available but as 99.99% of people who look at my profile can see, I'll wait for requests.

Norway has much less competition for the oil it sells & that oil is owned by the National government which changes everything.

It is our states that could've built future funds & they've not shown much aptitude for competent budget management.

Norway struck oil in the 60s. Now it has trillions. This is how Australia compares
Norway struck oil in the 1960s. Now, almost a quarter of its national budget is funded through its sovereign wealth fund. How does Australia compare with taxing its resources?

I wasn't around at the time so must rely on the data & find it difficult to believe in the evil conspiracy theory.

I'm sure there were devious tactics used by the Liberal Party but don't see it as much worse than what they all do today.
The dismissal of #Whitlam outraged some but Fraser won in a landslide at the next poll.

Either the anger was brief or a lot of people were happy with the decision.

If you're choosing a car, #EVs are the best option but that doesn't mean governments should be spending a lot of money to encourage people to drive them.

They're less harmful but not helpful.

Countries aren't press ganged into joining #NATO.

It's true that NATO could've rejected applications but #Russia has absolutely no power to control who is admitted.

No country or group would react well to one officer making a unilateral decision to release privileged information.

Provided the perpetrators of the alleged crime are prosecuted too I have no problem with Israel cracking down on leaks.
EVs aren't really good for the environment. They're just not as bad as the alternatives.
Barnaby thinks he's done quite well by shifting the argument on climate change.

What he's actually done is change the talk from a discussion between the ALP & LNP to an argument between the far right & centrist MPs in the LNP.

That's not good for RWNJs.

Ninety out of 212 countries generate a higher proportion of their power with renewables than Australia but the LNP isn't happy.

They think that means we're ahead of the curve.

I don't think debtors' prisons where you stayed until someone paid off your debt were much better.

Those arguing that countries with higher #renewable energy usage pay more for power ignore a basic fact.

It is first world countries like Norway, Denmark, Canada & Australia that have embraced green power - Of course they pay more.

The network operator isn't instructing them to give power away due to altruism.

There's too much energy in the system when solar power output is at its peak & they want to distribute it.

NUP TO THE CUP ⛔️

175 dead horses.

That’s the number in a DeathWatch report from the Coalition for the Protection of Racehorses (CPR) for the 24/25 racing season (see below).

In a 7 year period of the Melbourne Cup, 6 horses were killed at the event.

The racing industry is hiding the deaths.

Melbourne Cup is animal cruelty. It's not something to celebrate.

These are the falls and deaths racing doesn't want you to see
For years, the racing industry has been quietly removing falls and deaths from its replays. Now, industry insiders are speaking out.

The top rate may have been 80% but before Keating, accountants used to say that paying tax in Australia was optional.
