Republicans added trillions to the national debt by giving billionaires tax cuts a few months ago, so it rings pretty hollow when they say we can’t afford to extend the current program that avoids 24 million Americans having their health care premiums double overnight.

Republicans control the government, but they can’t even manage to keep the lights on. This Trump Shutdown isn’t about ‘fiscal responsibility’ — it’s a tantrum. The GOP would rather close shop and disrupt key government services than fund our healthcare.
