You never know where you might find the next Claxton Thrumpston.

NFL personnel here at Beaver Stadium today for Penn State-Northwestern: Steelers (2), Ravens, Eagles.

Jealous of this whole take.

Considering that situation may well have been a binary, when factoring the owner in— Nick or Belichick— still the right decision

To the extent that Howie Roseman is to blame for this season, it’s that he’s the one who vouched for Nick after 2023. That was the most consequential decision he made impacting this year, and it still didn’t derail a Super Bowl victory last year.

It's a little simplistic but a big part of their issue flows from the 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019 1st Rounds all being either bad overall or basically bad by the time the Phillies were picking.

Thank you, very stupid of me.

Flyers were in the Stanley Cup finals in 1985, 1987, and 1997.

Sadly, I think this is badly non-responsive to what I've said. However, it is--again--needlessly rude so I admire your consistency there.

An 18-year-old fan has been alive for more than half of the Phillies division titles ever. A 24-year-old Eagles fan has been alive for 2/3 of the Eagles division titles and 80% of their Super Bowl appearances.

Between 1980 and 2001, the Eagles won the division once. Between 1983 and 2007, the Phillies won the division once. Between 1983 and 2008, Philly teams played in the in one World Series, one Stanley Cup Final, and one NBA Championship (all losses).

I know I sound so old, but you need to understand how much Philadelphia sports was just not only bad, but irrelevant.

Are we just describing what we're doing now? I'm responding to a post from someone with whom I've never interacted and the interaction was initiated when that person sent a rude, rhetorical question to me.
noahbecker.bsky.social
No, but thank you for the considerate question!

Correct, he's a CEO head coach who wants to do the work of the guys he's supposed to be supervising and leading.

Please, I had it first.

A possible solution everyone will be thrilled about is "Eagles Offensive Coordinator Lincoln Riley."
noahbecker.bsky.social
The Eagles (OBVIOUSLY) should not hire Belichick but they have a really tough needle to thread with their next hire.

They need to hire someone Jalen trusts/respects enough to implement more modern offense who will also let them dictate in-game decision making, personnel, the OL coach and DC.

Waiting for someone to propose UNC head coach Nick Sirianni and Eagles head coach Bill Belichick, purely for LOLs
noahbecker.bsky.social
Does it seem meaningful that the HC basically never sleeps, is unable to manage his emotions on the sideline, and has a team who is trying to emotionally regulate its disagreements through the media? Who can say?
noahbecker.bsky.social
I remain really stuck on this quote.

I stand by my overriding thesis, which is that Nick and his friends are just pretty dumb guys.
noahbecker.bsky.social
Every time Sirianni has gotten even a whiff of offensive autonomy the team has immediately become both bad and embarrassing. It's time to cut bait.
noahbecker.bsky.social
I actually think he doesn't have anyone in the media who will do that for him.
noahbecker.bsky.social
I think the national media reaction when the Eagles fire Sirianni this offseason is going to be interesting.

You don't call the offense, you don't call the defense, your ostensible superpower is your culture and your culture is totally curdled SIX REGULAR SEASON WEEKS AFTER YOU WON THE SUPER BOWL. What are you doing?
noahbecker.bsky.social
Eagles pretty clearly have real problems but if your culture setter coach has this many guys just moping and grumbling and miserable and playing without energy, what is he doing?
