The overall progressive bent on here I think obscures to people how much we, like previous generations, are grouchy, nostalgic, and prone to seeing the environment around us changing as a sign of decline.

i was in group 1, and friends saying that stuff legitimately did help me end a toxic friendship with someone who at the end mostly just seemed to want me around as a punching bag
