unicorn onesie and a fistful of flags and we're good to go
Toby Talbot brought unmatched passion, intellect & taste to the NY film scene. Our effort to bring back the Metro & restore a wider range of art film exhibition to the neighborhood is in no small way inspired by the legacy of Toby & Dan. She will be sorely missed.

Diane Keaton has left us too soon. RIP
Come see Joan Micklin Silver's classic indie film #HesterStreet and hear about the new stage adaptation we are working on. It was a hit in its DC premiere, and the next step is to bring it back home to New York City.

Is it time to start planning a Mount Rushmore of former late night talk show hosts? Only two spots left, although that won't last long.
Robert Redford was a great actor, writer and director, but his biggest contribution to the art was the creation of Sundance which defined American Independent film. Those of us with careers in the field owe him tremendously. RIP
It's now crystal clear that any attempt to "fix" awards shows only make them worse. Just let them be what they want to be.

I've never thought there was a bad time to be honest about the fact that a horrible person is/was horrible. But after this week's whitewashing of Kirk by the media and political commentariat, it feels not just permissible but essential to fight both sentimentality and dishonesty at top volume.
Update: the local weather chart is back in the Times today. They must have read my post.
It was bad enough when the @NYTimes stopped printing baseball scores and standings, but as of today they no longer have the local weather!
Sorry to hear about the death of Mark Volman. The Turtles were my very first live concert, held in the auditorium of Highland Park High School. Always loved their happy vibe.
Would someone please re-release Altman's "Nashville" for its 50th anniversary in IMAX? If not Paramount, Neon?

I know there is a lot going on, but I just looked at the MLB schedule and the Brewers and Cubs play each other five times next week for some reason
Come visit us at the Upper Broadway Street Fair today. We are right across the street from the theater we now own!

This may come as a surprise, but I encourage everyone to go see the Naked Gun film opening this week. We need to encourage the studios to widen out the types of films they've been making. Comedies should be seen with a crowd. When was the last time you had that experience?
