A moth got into the shelter tonight and it was the event of the season.

It flies under the radar because it is overwhelmed by the sheer repulsiveness of the physical destruction of the east wing, but there is no way that a president should be allowed to use private money to change public property. It circumvents the power of the purse.

The US froze aid to Colombia
Much of which is used to fight drug cartels
Because the president of Colombia said the US killed Colombian fishermen
In what is supposed to be a US military campaign to stop drug cartels

Ah yes, surely it's just a coincidence that the New York Times went all the way to Maine and took glamour shots of a guy who they had no idea would be running for Senate as "the Oysterman" six weeks later.
One weird thing about Platner's sudden elevation to national prominence is that he was featured in a NYT travel story about Maine's oyster trail *six weeks before* his campaign announcement and the accompanying NYT feature. No mention of his political aspirations www.nytimes.com/2025/07/04/t...

This is what happens when you lack values and think politics is zero-sum gamesmanship
Incredible lack of imagination
the plan otherwise is running another candidate. running another candidate is a plan. maine has ranked choice primaries 8 months from now. running a good candidate with no nazi tattoos is a plan.

you don’t have to do this. there are 6 posts under this one & they’re all “you don’t have to do this.”

btw, both trading away the rights of trans folks and saying nazi stuff is nbd because you think these helps win elections are two sides of the same coin and it is wrong morally, ethically, and politically

Again I don’t think you realize I’m not the person who’s out of touch for finding this alarming.
my brother has a SS tattoo on his body.

you read that right. a literal SS.

he was a 'S'cout 'S'niper. Marines often used the flag, yes the flag youre probably thinking of, as their own symbol in group pics.

as he told me many times "we take our enemy's symbols. just be glad you dont understand."

Feel like the people who are like “maybe a Nazi tattoo is okay” are the same people who are like “run a DSA candidate?! No fucking way”
Dems are constantly looking for politicians to be fans of rather than public servants whom they hold accountable.
Make your damn free throws!!

"No Nazi or Nazi-adjacent tattoos" should probably be an important baseline qualification for elected office, along with "no Nazi or Nazi adjacent beliefs" and "thinks all genocides are bad."
