we need to get rid of the false blouse/shirt distinction (blouses are just a subset of shirts!) so that everyone will know that chambray SHIRTS go in the SHIRT section. in thrift stores, "blouse" is just a euphemism for "women's shirt" but i guess they don't tell employees about that in training

the usage of "86" meaning "cancel" comes from people saying "x" as in "cross out" and then extending that to "x86," a joke about the computer architecture. finally the phrase became just "86"

google's AI overview sucks so much for two main reasons, one being that it simply feels intrusive from a UX perspective, the other that typical google searches are 1-5 words and to get good information out of an LLM on anything that doesn't have a widely known true answer you need more context

i hate people doing these bits so much. i literally did compile myself a kernel once, for one testing feature. it took maybe half an hour of reading manuals and navigating menus to get it started, i went and did something else, and when i came back it was finished and worked perfectly

my pro tip for giant steps and frankly any bebop with super fast harmonic rhythm and weird key changes is just solo with chord tones until other stuff comes together. and even then maybe still solo with chord tones lol. the voice leading in giant steps is not crazy complicated it's just atypical
