1. tipping the handlebars up so they sweep straight towards your shoulders (helping for me rn) or
2. more upright bars lol

yeah they're specifically designed for long fun hilly rides on varying terrain. depending on the frame geometry you have right now, you might be able to get close enough with gravel drops and the right stem tbh

genuinely i think the reason why I'm having fit problems is that the seat/pedal fit is very upright but they were afraid of making the bars too european

oh they have another crazy one for that too, the surly corner bar. but also gravel bikes are all the rage right now. there are lots of flat/wide/flared drops if you want brifters and everything

oh absolutely but some people swear by them. you can even do setups like bar end shifters on the "hoods."

idk what fit problems you're having but on my e bike I'm thinking about trying more swept back to fix the wrist angles. but it's a cargo/commuter with weird geometry already.

it turns out that they are available in my size but are either shredded or cost well over 100 dollars. meanwhile there are many nice looking canvas LL bean chore coats, with removable liners included, for well UNDER 100 dollars
