Bestial metal hearkening back into the barbaric origins of contemporary extremity but evolving it into an almost futuristic complexity. The chaotic grind-inspired roots aren't hidden but totalitarian warfare is exchanged for deep-sea horror and a surprisingly intricate delivery. Elaborate melody lines and morbidly triumphant moments of reprieve combine in winding, multi-part songs casually casting raw atavism against mythological scope. The ingredients at play can be simpel individually but combined create songs rivalling many prog acts in just how high they aim. Fans of Axis of Advance will dig this, even Dungeon Serpent and Funeral Chant.

A particularly strong album with nice flowing songs.
Brutal, progressive, but not annoying in the slightest.
It all fits surprisingly well together.
This can be attributed to the strong songwriting, but also the production which is really earthy and compliments the songs in a way I seldom hear in modern fusion/progressive death metal releases.
Cynic and Atheist seem to be strong influences here and that's probably part of the reason I love this so much.
