We store the toy in a hall closet, and if either of us open the closet, for any reason, Mimi will come running, "it's play time, now?" She'll also sit in front of the closet and look up at me if I walk by. Wiping sleep out of my eyes and going to make myself coffee and she's all "time to play??"

My partner bought a toy for our cats, sort of a fishing pole with interchangeable "lures" (a shrimp, a worm, a gigantic housefly) and jingly bells. Both cats love it, but especially the youngest, Mimi.
