I always had hoped for a future where technology was helpful and uplifting to humanity but yeah...

Anyone on here able to help me work on a possible pitch for a story? It involves the unarmed shooting of an abducted teenager by police in San Bernardino, a shootout on the freeway, far-right politics, and the trauma of divorce. I have gigabites of police reports + witness interviews + videos.

Sad thing - as a child growing up on repeats of Star Trek: TNG, and something of a nerd, I always dreamt of an artificially intelligent computer I could control with natural language speech.

Now today, when Microsoft is pushing it, because of how they are doing so, I want naught to do with it.

I realise now this toy did not have holes in the bottom for feet (it was motorised) - but we could have those in the real one if there was a panel on the bottom that flipped up to cover the holes / reveal the front greebling for the chest.

also probably need a flap on the bottom that flips up to form the chest / cover the holes where the feet protrude - this toy (from the movie) had a solid bottom and I forgot about that.

In case anyone is new to Bluesky & not using custom lists - an anecdote:

Over time I've come to follow around 1300 people / orgs, all wonderful and interesting, but sometimes the firehose is too much for me mentally. On those days I switch to a smaller list of a few people and it's so much calmer.
