This UK Supreme Court decision is potentially momentous for the way religion is taught in schools on Northern Ireland. as the situation currently stands it amounts to indoctrination’ - not a word lawyers lightly throw around. A pluralistic Northern, and future Shared, Ireland needs a new approach.

The UK's Supreme Court has ruled that the Christian religious education taught in schools in the North is unlawful.

It added that to teach pupils to 'accept a set of beliefs without critical analysis amounts to evangelism, proselytising, and indoctrination'.
