The ship continues to tumble the Black Omega, is now very largely, cropped by the panel, still behind the tumbling ship and obviously larger than it.

The tumbling ship remains, surrounded it now is the centre of the Black Omega, the ship so large it now dwarfs the little scrapyard junker.

Floating behind here (and where’s she’s flying towards) is a large chunky salvage ship (which is big and blocky and has two very obvious hands for gripping salvage)
Terran Omega : "No, I think I'd like to do this myself"

First: Terran omega flying towards a door (she flies gently while standing)

Second; her hand reaches towards the door and is cracking with energy

Third: her helmet and staff now inside the airlock of the ship
Terran: I'm inside
Terran: ...
Radio: *static*
Terran: Hmmm... on my own.

Fourth: she’s walking carefully down a corridor filled with smoke
Terran: Now. Let's look around.

I already thought these looked like cool little guys before I saw what their name is

I think they're garlic grinders or something, but they affix to the table and you turn a handle to either rotate a drum in the front or grind whatever's in a sort of basin they've got - which means they all have wide bases, thin forward-leaning necks and robot heads with different kinds of mouth. The name for all of these is given as "SPONG"

I love that BBC 4 shows top of the pops, and I love that it shows two episodes in a row, but would it be a terrible thing if they were separated by 20 years or something? rather than by a week apart?

Anyway worth reading. I don’t think the us government would have ever been capable of doing it but going to battle with a bunch of bunny rabbits in your arms because your opponent will find it harder to shoot you and dehumanise you if you’ve got a family pet in your arms in fascinating.

But the manual he wrote, then full of insane ideas for the time, is surprisingly prescient. It’s focus more on conflict resolution and making opponents see you as humans first. It also talked about the results of battles being less important than who gets that information out first.

The book The Men Who Stare at Goats features a section on The First Earth Battalion. A group proposed by a guy called Jim Channon charged by the pentagon to investigate what the army could become Channon instead took a load of drugs and proposed an army whose first allegiance was to planet earth.
