The best thing that’s happened for Virginia the last four years is that Jason Miyares’ malevolence has been kept in check by his incompetence (see, e.g., failed prosecution of PWC registrar on fabricated evidence, etc)

There’s a 2019 AG opinion that says that local law enforcement cannot detain someone solely on the basis of an ICE admin warrant (whatever name is given to it), that echoes multiple AG opinions from 2005 onward

One week into Trump’s shutdown and he’s threatening to cut off pay for Virginia's furloughed workers – and @jasonmiyaresva.bsky.social hasn't lifted a finger to protect them. VA deserves an AG who will fight for our workforce, not one too afraid to stand up to Trump.
