You may associate the Jane Goodall Institute with chimpanzees, but the Institute also provides care for rescued gorillas!

One of the youngest members of Tchimpounga is the gorilla you can see here. Mozambique, nicknamed ZZ, was orphaned as an infant before she was rescued.

John was rescued by Congolese authorities and carefully transferred – with help from Project for the Application of Law for Fauna and the Congolese Agency for Wildlife and Protected Areas – to Tchimpounga, the Jane Goodall Institute's chimpanzee sanctuary.
