Whenever you hear a Trumper say that antifa are terrorists, ask them if they support fascism. Even if they do, they will say no because fascism is bad.

And when they say no, tell them that they are members of antifa and you will be reporting them to the FBI for terrorism.

A DA is required to present exculpatory evidence to the grand jury when seeking an indictment. It seems that exculpatory evidence may have been excluded in order to guarantee an indictment

Thats why you don't fire the prosecutor who says there's no crime and replace him with a novice flacky.

I know I already posted this, but my husband said something funny about it. What if the felon gets to heaven only to find that the border is closed to immigrants? It made me giggle harder than it should have.

A 13-year-old boy was arrested by ICE in Everett and sent to a juvenile detention facility in Virginia.
A 13-year-old boy was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in Everett after an interaction with members of the Everett Police Department and sent to a juvenile detention facility in Virginia, according to his mother and immigration lawyer Andrew Lattarulo.

The boy’s mother, Josiele Berto, was called to pick her son up from the Everett Police Department on Thursday, the day he was arrested. After waiting for about an hour and a half, she was told her son was taken by ICE, Berto told the Globe in a phone interview.

“My world collapsed,” Berto said in Portuguese.

From the police department, the boy was taken to ICE’s holding facility in Burlington on Thursday evening, where he spent a night before being transferred by car to the Northwestern Regional Juvenile Detention Center in Winchester, Va., on Friday morning, his mother said. The juvenile facility is more than 500 miles away from Everett.

The boy is a 7th-grader at Albert N. Parlin School in Everett, his mother said. The teen and his family, who are Brazilian nationals, have a pending asylum case and are authorized to work legally in the United States, Lattarulo said.

In addition, Israel changed the deal that other countries in the region approved. Israel hasn't ceased fire. The hostages aren't released (unless that happened and I just haven't seen that news.

Plus, Trump and Kushner are on the board to manage Gaza. Both want to make it a Trump resort.

At this point, nobody should be celebrating a "peace deal". Those are words only. Actions speak louder than words and as long as Bibi is in charge there will never be actual peace. He is trying to completely wipe out the people of Gaza...men, women and children.

He asked Vance a question. Vance refused to answer, changed the subject, deflected, refused to answer when asked repeatedly, insulted the host and the media in general, complained about the question, refused to answer again, blah blah blah.

Stephanopoulos thanked him for his time. Now Vance is mad.

More CDC Cuts 💣💥

Gone is the Employee Assistance Program. They help staff deal with many things, among them coping with the trauma of being the victim of a terrorist attack 2 months ago.

Also gone, every policy and communications role left, eliminating any communication function at CDC.

I just went to the store and in the car, I heard the new Taylor Swift single, which i like. The chorus is now stuck in my head.

It has a rhyming outlet that ends with "of" and then pauses before the next word and it's driving me batty!

New article out this month on how doctors become fascists.

50% of German physicians joined the Nazi Party––twice the proportion of any other profession. US doctors today are arguably the most conservative in the world, and we're heading along a similar path.

Since his case came to light, they have wanted to make an example of him. Stand up to their slander and libel? You cannot be free.

While their general goal is to get their rocks off by harming people, they have an added goal in this case, which is to show people that it's best to put up with that.

So Kilmer Abrego-Garcia will not challenge a deportation to Costa Rica, who has agreed to for him residency, but DHS won’t agree to send him there because it’s not cruel enough.

www.nytimes.com/2025/10/10/u...
For weeks, Mr. Abrego Garcia, a Salvadoran national who is married to a U.S. citizen, has made clear that he would not challenge his deportation if he were sent to Costa Rica, which has promised him legal residency and guaranteed that he would not be sent back to El Salvador.

But the Trump administration has refused to deport him to Costa Rica, and in an earlier hearing this week, Judge Xinis pressed the administration to consider the option or clarify why it was unacceptable.

Wow. Tim Curry felt that he was making progress trying to walk after his stroke, but his insurance cut off his therapy.
kristenimmoor.bsky.social
Enjoyed the New Yorker interview with Tim Curry, a free-wheeling conversation in which there were several sensitive questions about his paralyzing stroke. But oh my goodness, why was there no follow-up at all to this staggering answer? www.newyorker.com/culture/the-...
Screenshot of text from the interview:

You’ve always been an incredibly physical performer: your strut during “Sweet Transvestite” in “Rocky Horror,” or the way you run around unfurling the mystery at the end of “Clue.” Do you still feel that in your body? Does that live somewhere in you still?

I think it does, but it’s angry. My mobility is angry to get out. But it’s not happened yet. I do a certain amount of physical therapy. I did a whole bunch of it at Cedars-Sinai, and I got very close, I think, to walking. That was tantalizing. For insurance reasons, I had to withdraw. And I have a visiting physical therapist now, but I can only really do exercises from my bed, which is pretty pathetic. It’s not going to get me walking, I don’t believe.

[I have underlined the sentence "For insurance reasons, I had to withdraw."]

Chicago journalist Debbie Brockman, who was thrown to the ground & handcuffed by ICE, has been released without charges

DHS said she assaulted an officer, but eye witnesses claim she didn’t

The lack of charges makes it clear that ICE is lying to try and cover up the fact that they attack the press

Exactly they get a libidinal thrill out of the idea of the people they hate *suffering* and being forced to suffer. This is a partly why their vision of free speech and healthy discourse centers around forcing the targets of bigotry to silently accept bigoted speech.

The responsible thing to do is reject the idea that LLM-generated text is inherently accurate. Read the output, fine. But understand that it is your job as a human, to verify that info before relying on it.

Otherwise, your brain has a GIGO problem.
petticoatdespot.bsky.social
So what's the fix?

Short of throwing out all of the training data and training it on reliable text vs unreliable text vs fiction? Fuck if I know.

One thing I do know is that conservative media is biased and full of misinformation, but if you were to tell an LLM that, there would be riots.
petticoatdespot.bsky.social
This is why LLMs "hallucinate." They don't know fact from fiction. They write fiction as a feature. They don't know when creating fiction is an inappropriate answer. They are designed to tell people what they want to hear, true or false. They say what you want to hear when you expect facts.
petticoatdespot.bsky.social
The LLM companies advertise the software as reliable, accurate, and helpful. This advertising campaign has been very successful.

It's not true, but people desire software that can answer their questions and do work for them, so they believe it.

But LLMs don't have a concept of "truth!" It's data.
