🌹I think the big problem is people keep wanting to turn Tron into the same old boring "robot rebellion" story that the original wasn't, like so much of the original is about the relationship between program and user and it's so adult and nuanced and that's all just gone now

I'm perplexed at watching pundits in the trades struggling to explain Tron Ares' disappointing opening.

Was it covid? Do people just not like science fiction? etc. etc.

The main reason is pretty obvious: Tron isn't a popular franchise. Nobody's interested in nostalgia for a failed 1980s project.

Thinking about the Dizzo from Vifam.... I love bizarre quadruped mode it has. Simple transformation, one of the classics of 'rotate the waist 180 degrees.' Main additional thing is the knees on the default legs to be double jointed.

Both Dark Crystals (the film and the prequel series) are absolutely stunning works of art, and because puppets are ultimately extremely elaborate theatre productions, the behind the scenes documentaries for both are works of art in and of themselves.

I have had a beautiful figure of Temjin for at least 13 years now. Unfortunately after x amount of moving and storage he's a little messed up with broken antenna. Not sure where his effects parts and bomb are either.

I think, perhaps, it's likely, that 'Warning From Space' affected me a lot as a kid. 🤷‍♀️ It was about an alien who assumes the likeness of a showgirl celebrity, complete with a drawn out transformation sequence where Ginko the Pairan morphs into possessing Hikari Aozora's feminine features.
