I think moderation is often useful (see: Trump lying about being the "Father of IVF"). The thing is, it only worked because people covered Trump as "the Father of IVF".

If you can construct a propaganda apparatus such that your moderation gets through, then it is valuable. Otherwise it's irrelevant
