It’s become crystal clear, Speaker Johnson doesn’t want Congress to come back in session because they don’t want the Epstein files released.

Stop the shutdown - release the files!

I assume that every single journalist reading this understands that the *first question* to ask the State Department tomorrow morning is how quickly it will provide a list of foreign nationals banned from the United States for statements made about Democrats or Americans perceived to be left-leaning

Democrats are ready to stop the price of your health care insurance from skyrocketing and reopen the government. But Senate Republicans refuse to hold a vote to lower health care costs–the House GOP isn’t even showing up to work.

They need to get serious and come to the negotiating table.

POLITICO: “.. They referred to Black people as monkeys and ‘the watermelon people’ and mused about putting their political opponents in gas chambers. They talked about raping their enemies .. and lauded Republicans who they believed support slavery.

This isn’t a peace plan. It’s a ceasefire. Why is the media calling it a peace plan?

~1300 fired on a Friday, about half unfired the next day, due to an apparent “coding error”. But sure, your data will be secure.

They’re all in a competition for who can be the most maliciously incompetent. So much winning. Participation trophies for eveyone. Nobel Prizes in Nonsense.
CDC purge hits 600 workers in key offices despite reversals
The casualties include employees working on health statistics, injury and violence prevention, congressional outreach and human resources.

An extraordinary new policy from the Defense Department that equates basic reporting methods to criminal activity has prompted a revolt among Pentagon journalists that could leave the nation's largest agency and the world's largest military without a press corps.
'Without precedent': Virtually all news outlets reject restrictive Pentagon press policy
The policy would force news organizations to refrain from publishing material not approved by the military. Media lawyers say it violates the 1st Amendment.

My writing professor's favorite quote. On a PowerPoint slide. First thing you see in class and the very last thing. She would leave it displayed the whole time.

Mamdani is going to win. The question will now be, "Can you reproduce this?" It's doubtful. He's talented. But it's possible, first of all, if you remember all politics is local, and the more local you get - the more people recognize you - the more things like age and parties cease to matter.

Stevens: There’s $1.3 trillion of credit card debt. There are people putting grocery bills on credit cards and then paying interest on them. We are in an affordability crisis. Coffee is up 20%, beef is up 16%, bacon is up over 10%. And now we’re going to see health care costs skyrocket.

I don't know. Then again, I'm not overly concerned other than the vengeful aspect of this so-called indictment. Comey can handle himself. It's the little people that I'm worried about.

Parents of U.S. Marine, Steve Rios, were recently detained by ICE. They were preparing to take Rios and his pregnant sister to breakfast.

His father was deported and the whereabouts of the mother is now unknown. Neither had criminal records.

The criminal is in the Oval Office.

"On September 25, the White House released "NSPM-7," a sweeping order targeting "anti-fascist," "anti-Christian,"
"anti-capitalist," and "anti-American" speech..."

mind boggling - they're explicitly saying "pro-fascist" is the good thing

It gets worse, though. Read on.

🚨 In case there was any #ambiguity about which enemies Trump is intent on targeting, a national security directive published last week spelled it out:

*Anyone who is not with him will be considered against him — and against the United States.*
The Terrifying New Memo Trump Could Use to Go After His Opposition
Donald Trump is upping his rhetoric about cracking down on anyone who opposes him, and his new NPSM-7 memo is a terrifying look at how he could do it.
