Solar panel cheque day is always exciting.

That’s shocking. Totally ignorant remarks, too.

People at my work who seem to exhale their last puff in the elevator…

The assumption that everyone drives is very damaging to society. It creates areas that are inaccessible to non-drivers, and fuels the most appalling town planning.

The two tests of cycling infrastructure should be

1 - would this be okay for a 12 year old child on their own?

AND

2 - would this be okay for lone woman at night?

If the answer to either of these is NO then it's not adequate.

My partner want me to ask about mini-library book borrowing etiquette. Is it wrong to take from one library and drop it at another? Is that spreading the choices, or is it rude?

Wanker of the day goes to this bell end.
I had to help a mum with a pushchair safely around this car, because she was scared that drivers wouldn't see her due to the other car just behind it, that was parked slightly better.

Reported for shit parking.

The amount of drivers who absolutely lose their shit when asked to keep pedestrians safe is infuriating.

You're driving fucking tanks that can obliterate the human body. You should be held to far higher safety standards than currently exist, and you're still whining. Grow the fuck up.

What astonishing victim-blaming. Your post should say:

In 2024 drivers killed 7,100 pedestrians, and in recent years drivers hit and killed more than 1,000 cyclists annually. Safety experts explain how drivers can keep bikers and walkers safe.

Hi @npr.org! We worked late tonight putting together this handy pocket guide!

It doesn't address road design issues, but if we're going to educate road users, we should include drivers.

It's the size of a folded business card. Print it, fold it, put it in your wallet!
"How Do You Avoid Hitting People With Your Car" pocket guide. Instructs readers to Watch the Road and Slow Down. Further text humorously insists that watching the road and slowing down are indeed important.

I finally handed in the last piece of my HCPC registration portfolio. It will still need to be marked, but at least I can now work on my lab tour presentation for my verification. It feels like it will never end. If only I knew there would be a job at the end of it.

Dear @uniofeastanglia.bsky.social PLEASE do something about this. You have new students arriving, and some of them, like me, will be terrified of dogs. This man was not happy when I pointed out that the signs say to put dogs on leads. He seemed to think it didn't matter.
Man walking 4 dogs, one off the lead and heading straight towards me.

Fewer staff tomorrow, but I’ll take something nice for lunch to see me through!

Crap day at work. I’m not a fan of working for a living. Any rich, desperate men out there? I’m fairly low maintenance. A few ciders, funds for bike repairs, and a few nights under the stars will keep me happy.

It’s Dutch* and it’s funny.

*So don’t you dare yell at me “this”time.

Exactly. I never thought my dog would hurt me…
purplemouse.bsky.social
My dog slipped his lead when I was a kid. Got butted by a ram. Changed his temperament, and attacked me shortly after. The people who think their dogs are ok don’t realise this can happen.

Yes, almost certainly, but she didn’t want to scare him off.

She felt bad because she knew that he sold stuff to buy things for his daughter. The only thing she had on her to offer was a full pouch of tobacco, so she gave him that and he seemed pleased! She can't believe her luck, and she's learnt a bit about bike security!
purplemouse.bsky.social
She was out last night and saw someone pushing it around. She recognised him as someone 'down on his luck' who she'd chatted to before when he'd been hanging around outside he dad's flat. He handed it over with no fuss saying he'd found it unlocked and was looking for the owner.

My daughter’s bike was stolen 2 nights ago. Not as fancy as yours, but huge sentimental value. I’ve never seen her so upset. Then she called me in tears again last night because she’d found it - someone was walking around town with it, and willingly handed it over. Very happy for your reunion!
