Me, trying to wipe a spill off the floor.

Roo, trying to take advantage and slip me a french kiss while I'm stooping.

Today on the blog, Robyn Maynard @policingblack.bsky.social discusses the new revised & expanded edition of her book "Policing Black Lives," explaining its continued relevance to students, scholars, & activists around the world.

A brown skinned woman with long dreadlocs parted to one side looks at the camera without smiling. She wears a white tank top and a pendant necklace. Cover of Policing Black Lives by Robyn Maynard. The background features a grainy, black-and-white image of a Black individual facing a wall. The person's posture and the ruler markings adjacent to the figure suggest that the image is a mugshot. The entire cover has a gritty feel and is overlaid with a grainy, stippled texture. The title text is bold and distressed.

Welcome to Bluesky. It’s a little annoying and pedantic but the trade-off is you won’t be doxxed by actual Nazis.
That happens here too. Actually on my street, there wasn't any sidewalk most of the way until a year ago. When they repaved it, they finally put sidewalk on one side of the road. This country just isn't designed for anything but everyone driving their own cars everywhere, & it sucks so much.
I can't find anything bookish due to the Search function on here being nonfunctional, so if you're seeing this, and you have bookish things, please post them in the replies.

Every Zionist account: Yes we did genocide but we signed a peace of paper that said we'd stop (ignore that we didn't follow through), why aren't you celebrating? The fact that you haven't immediately forgotten about what we did is proof you just hate Israel.

The Alaska Native village of Kipnuk was due to receive a $20M grant from the EPA that they were going to use for flood protection.

It was labelled “wasteful DEI spending” and canceled.

Assigned Media has a complete ban on AI because I don't like it or think it's any good.
Pay people you like on the internet folks, it’s going to be rough out there
Over half of all articles on the Internet are now written by AI

Has Search gone to hell for everyone on here or is that just me?

Me: Do you really need to eat all that plastic?

Roo: *gasps & gives me a look of shock indignation that says, "How DARE you! My body, my choice!"*

every time you read a story about how no-strings-attached direct payments to vulnerable, marginalized or otherwise needy people are a big net profit to the society disbursing them, and you ask "why doesn't america do that?", please know that this is the answer why
mac from always sunny saying "but who versus? who are we doing it versus?" because he cannot understand a plan that does not have a victim
