I loathe when that happens. Even more upsetting is when they hit with "we're only human" type of response! We KNOW but it's still important to do y'all's job. Folks need their meds. Authorize it darnit! 😭 I hope you can find a healthy outlet in the meantime and/or have an alternative to your meds 🩷

Historically, IQ test scores have been weaponized to support discriminatory ideologies, control marginalized communities, and reinforce social hierarchies. Although, IQ tests were initially intended for educational support, they were/are widely misused to advance political and social agendas.

IQ tests might identify an area or multiples where someone might not excel but there might be other areas they do. Too many people weaponize IQ scores when the true measure of intelligence extends far beyond a single test score.

The term "autism" was coined in 1911. The initial work describing autistic traits was published in 1925. The first diagnosed Autistic was Donald Triplett (born in 1933–2023). He was observed circa 1938 by Dr. Leo Kanner who published his findings in 1943. Acetaminophen was FDA approved in 1951.

A significant portion of her work remained in Russian and German for decades. An English translation of her key 1926 paper wasn't available until 1996. Even to this day, Dr. Sukhareva's pioneer work still goes uncredited. That needs to change.

Autism was Grunya Sukhareva. Although when she made the distinction, she referred to it as schizoid psychopathy before later referring to it as autistic psychopathy. Her research was published in 1925 + a part 2 in 1926¹. In the US, the first clinician to diagnose autism was Dr. Leo Kanner in 1943.

Actually Autism wasn't diagnosed in 1911. That's when it was coined by Eugene Bleuler and it was thought to be a state of severe self-absorption and withdrawal into one's inner world, a symptom he observed in people with schizophrenia. The first person to make the distinction between schizophrenia+

The way RFK Jr and Co are going after Autism reminds me of the cartoonish way J. Jonah Jameson goes outta his way to attack Spider-Man. At least in the latter case there's entertainment. Nothing entertaining about the former. It's dangerous.

I kinda suspected it wasn't just a one-off. Instead of them asking you, maybe try asking them what it is they need. Maybe you've done that and maybe they've lied, that's besides the point. You still gave what you could. If it was truly from the heart that mattered.
