I am asking you to give me concrete, realistic ways for a four (or even five or six year old) to “think outside the box” to find access to books they don’t even know exist because they’ve been banned.

Children should not have to think outside of the box for access to books?? What?? Book bans affect kids as young as pre-k. How do you suggest a four year old think outside the box?

I don’t know how people think children w/o transport or money are getting books outside of school? Children have so little autonomy- they don’t even decide if they get to GO to school sometimes. The school library is one of the only places they get to be fully independent and make their own choices.

Things I’ve learned since getting a part time job in a gym
-a surprising number of people drink 5-hr energy on the toilet
-a shocking number of people need to be told they have to wear shoes in the gym
-lots of people just go to the gym to hang out with their friends and chat

ICE showed up in front of their school this morning and dragged a man from a car, next to the crosswalk where kids are coming for early breakfast to school. In front of the middle school bus stop as the bus arrived. Kids are fearing for their families and now are expected to do fucking math.
