I love this book. It’s about a woman grappling with guilt and being complicit with a fascist regime after the regime ejects her from the order. It’s about abuse and recovery. It’s just a great book and you should read it.

This is in direct contrast to when we watched Lord of the Rings, and my 10yo sobbed at the end because "that was such a cool ring, I wish they didn't have to destroy that ring" revealing that he would have been corrupted in about 6 seconds flat

We watched Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990) last night and when it got to Shredder's secret lair of child thieves, my 8yo gasped, "Why do they have cigarettes!??" So I know she will be safe from the temptation of joining the villainous Foot Clan. 😌

He was always going to do this. Chicagoans have not rioted, so the administration just lied and said we have. We have not attacked ICE agents, so they just lied and said we did. There was no chaos here, so they created chaotic scenes by attacking people and filmed that shit.
