👏 "There are over four million kids in child poverty in the UK and there are four and a half million people who can't get a dentist appointment."

"We spend 90% of the political capital and discourse and media focus discussing 37,000 people."

If you're a National Trust member, it's that time of year again: Midnight tonight is the deadline. It's a shame people have to keep doing this to keep a toehold on historical truth in this country, but here we are. Voting link: www.nationaltrust.org.uk/who-we-are/a...

Bryant suggested [Mr Windsor] should go to the US to answer questions about the crimes of the late paedophile financier Epstein if asked. “What I’m basically saying is that I think that if Andrew is asked to do something by a Senate committee then I would have thought that he would want to comply”

👍I think that past 'if there was a GE tomorrow, who would you vote for' the norm is just asking 'how likely are you to vote', 'did you vote last time' and 'who for'.

I presume they try to get more detail to extrapolate accurately from with smaller scale polling, but it still seems a blind spot.

For the whole of November, we are lifting the 9.30 rule on older and disabled people’s bus passes.

We are doing whatever we can to help people with cost-of-living pressures and make life a little easier. 🐝
Weird in hindsight, but I discovered 'Ziggy Stardust' via the Bauhaus version. 🙂

Probably a reflection of the C90/tape-to-tape culture in the 1980s, and the circle of sharing/swapping I was part of.

A reminder that lots of my cartoons are available on T shirts. Preferably from OUR Redbubble store rather than one of the many pirate sites (including those on Redbubble. We're worldofmoose.

Seems to me that the bulk of this is already within the remit of our security services, and they have sufficient powers to set about neutralising it if tasked to do so.
Australian wildlife in action, compared to the videos of panic from the USA etc 😂

I remember being taught that kangaroos fill an ecological niche similar to deer and antelope. But we were left to conclude for ourselves that there weren't any large predators because they'd kicked them to death.

Ukraine’s interceptor drone Sting is taking drone warfare to the next level.

These unique UAVs hunt and destroy incoming Russian kamikaze drones mid-air, shielding cities and infrastructure.
Yeah, but the USSR defined the 'Great Patriotic War' as only the part of WWII when Stalin was not Hitler's ally. So their invasions of Poland, Romania, the Baltic states and Finland 1939-41 aren't included at all.

The fact that they only declared on Japan on 8/8/1945 is similarly airbrushed.
👍FWIW one factoid that I think is worth spreading is that on 8th January 2026 Putin's 'Special Military Operation' will have lasted as long as the Great Patriotic War Russians fetishise.

22/6/1941 to 8/5/1945 = 1,416 days
Yeah, but we also know how 'circumstances' have a habit of making their previously repudiated policies reappear once they're in power.

"No top-down reorganisation of the NHS" being a classic from 2010, the opposite of which mysteriously made it into the coalition agreement the LibDems stuck to.
👍Basic terminology... donors being 'anonymous' means their identity is unknown to the recipient.
Lèse-majesté - (from Anglo-Norman French) verbal/written defamation of the monarch or the state.

Constituting a crime regarded as a form of treason under English Law in the past, particularly as a feature of the Tudor/Stuart 'absolute monarchy' period.

Just saying.
"HMRC has apologised twice for its errors and said on Tuesday it was stopping the practice of suspending child benefit payments first and asking questions later."

Even so, we've seen the way that these scenarios can mean having to prove that 'the data' is wrong.
