That said, Ds vocally *opposed* to the very idea - if I recall correctly, that includes Schumer - stink. But Ds simply keeping mum could be making the correct play.

2) as necessary as it is, the Senate is R controlled. There's a risk of having them respond to calls to expand the SC to 13, one per circuit, with them going "great idea! We'll do it ourselves!" So I'm not sure trumpeting the importance of this is a great idea.

Thinking about this some more, I'm not sure including court reform works. 1) Governors aren't expected to be pushing for it, as that is a Federal issue. E.g. JB is up for reelection, and it doesn't quite make sense to go off on that in his speeches when it's something he has no control over.

Taking this photo made me realize for the first time how bad my phone's camera is, because that photo actually came out looking like this, which is nowhere as vibrant as the flowers really are. I had to adjust it in the Android photo app to get it to look right, which I've never really done before.
The same photo. The flowers look much more pinkish, and the leaves a paler green, than they are in reality.

The Chicago Brown Line Western platform, looking West, at sunset
A large brick building to the left, with heavy white lines where support girders are. The building looms high, topped by grey cell tower equipment. Below it to the right, rails stretch away into a tree line. Stretching from the building is a close bunch of wires, touching a thin sliver of wooden platform, including the overhead lights, at the lower right corner. Above it all, mostly parallel to the wire, puffy clouds in thin lines, between which shows dusky blue twilight sky, tinged with weak yellow.

Quick update on what we just saw here—*before curfew*, ISP troopers, Broadview PD and CCSO deputies began menacing demonstrators outside the ICE facility. Several arrests.

Pepper ball guns at the ready, a bit of a standoff going with remaining protesters. All people are doing is playing music.

Hey, what was happening in Germany in the 1930s? I forget.

@RealJamesWoods
For those who actually respect history, the origin story of Antifa is well documented. Antifa is an organization that emerged with the “German Communist Antifaschistische Aktion” movement in the 1930’s.
German Communists smeared anyone to their right as "fascists,” a common ploy used by the ignorant hysterical activists of the Democrat Party today. Like today’s leftist loonies, the German Antifa of the Weimar years even labeled the leftwing SDP as "social fascists." Today’s Antifa are a paramilitary mob used by the usual suspects to foment fake “mass protests” and burn down cities. The same puppet masters of the Democrat activist judges ruining America today also fund these “useful idiots” of Antifa to impede the mandate given to the current President in his landslide last election victory.

lots of cops have been snapping photos of protesters. saw a couple sneaking pics from behind the trees earlier.

protesters still heckling cops and yelling at ice as they come/go.

unsure if the cops just think it’s funny or what.

(note the massive can on pepper spray on this guy’s vest.)

I have never in my life seen anything like what is going on between the Broadview police force and ICE. These federal agents just do not give a shit about any kind of back the blue solidarity. Gas, verbal abuse, time wasting.

Telling the federal court that IL police can handle Broadview was part of the state's legal strategy against national guard being deployed here.

But it's hard to square that as for the good of protestors or Illinoisans as a whole, when IL police are perfectly willing to drag and beat them anyway.

state police continue to push protesters down 25th street. at one point, cops swarmed a group of people and pushed them to the ground.

Unconstitutionally taking money that the law says must be spent on one purpose & using it for something else—when it's to establish personalist control over the FUCKING MILITARY—is about as dangerous a constitutional crisis/failure as you can imagine

Via: www.nbcnews.com/politics/tru...
The Office of Management and Budget sent a notification to Congress about their intent to use research and development funds to pay members of the military, two sources with direct knowledge tell NBC News.

A spokesperson for the OMB confirmed to NBC News that it plans to use the research and development funds and that there are two years' worth of funds available within the Department of Defense.

This is the fucking Prussian constitutional crisis. If you let them fund the military without Congressional authorization you've just given up on constitutional government. Congress is a dead letter.

guards ignore—but are trained—that withdrawal is a life threatening condition, and ignoring someone in withdrawal is both deliberate and indifferent

the fact that they were *wrong* about this person’s emergency doesn’t make their conduct any less deliberate or indifferent
