During a military-style raid on a building in Chicago’s South Shore, one resident heard a knock on his door. 

It wasn’t the feds —  it was a mom and her 7-year-old daughter, pleading for help.

Early intervention to KEEP people housed is THE MOST COST EFFECTIVE OPTION.

So clearly money is not always the issue. Hmm could it be that developers & landlords clearly have more political sway with our electeds than regular ass DC residents?

While evictions rise, the city is also cutting funding to 1) rent relief 2) street outreach 3) permanent supportive housing & other housing voucher programs & 4) shelters

If we’re talking purely money, it costs more to provide appropriate housing support for someone the longer they are unhoused.
